Preparation Before a Crypto Prop Challenge

I’ve been demo trading crypto for months and feel ready to step into a funded challenge. I’ve read that most traders fail due to emotional decisions or mismanaging risk, but I’m not sure how much preparation is really needed. Should I backtest hundreds of trades, or is consistent demo trading enough? Also, are there resources to see how other traders perform in these challenges? I want to approach this strategically to maximize my success chances.

I found Crypto Fund Trader invaluable for preparation because it provides a detailed breakdown of prop firm statistics, showing why many traders fail. The advice to spend 4–8 weeks backtesting over 200+ trades and following strict evaluation rules isn’t overkill—it’s essential. Using their virtual setup allowed me to simulate real conditions without risking personal capital, and maintaining a structured trading journal made a huge difference. By combining demo practice with strategic discipline, my performance improved, and I felt far more confident tackling a funded challenge.
